Obituary

The Life of William Allen, Jr.

A private viewing for immediate family ONLY will be Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:30 to 3:00 PM at the funeral parlor. A public viewing will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Only 4-people will be allowed to enter the parlor at a time, due to COVID-19.

Graveside Services will be Sunday, February 21, 2021, 12:00 High Noon, Coleman-McGee Funeral Home Front Lawn, NC, Rev. Dwight Gillis will deliver the eulogy.

William Allen,Jr., son of the late William, Sr. & Lizzie Allen, was born September 25, 1941 in Seaboard, Northampton County, NC. His education was obtained through the public schools of Northampton County, NC.

At an early age he confessed his faith and joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, NC. William worked at Freeman and Son's Local 639 as a Truck Driver, Lanham, MD, for 29 years. Upon retiring he moved to Gaston, NC November 2000 and joined First Baptist Church, Weldon, NC and worked as a Janitor. He also worked at Coleman-McGee Funeral Home as a Funeral Attendant and did so many other jobs at the funeral parlor until his health started to fail.

His hobbies were fishing, gardening and working on cars. He also loved to cook. A  lover of  blue crabs. The family would always come together and have a crab feast. He loved to talk and never met a stranger He was a person who spoke his mind. William was an excellent husband, great father and grand father.

William was United In Holy Matrimony in February 2, 1963 for 57-years to Mae E. Brown. They were blessed with three lovely children; Daughter: Evangelist Gwendolyn Evette Isaac and husband Ulysses and their children: Alicia "Trenise" Allen (deceased), Ulysses Isaac, Jr., Delonte' Isaac and Janet Roberson (cat:  Shadow); Daughter:  Angela Denise Payne and husband Carl and their son:  James Allen and his children Nevaeh Allen and Markus Allen; daughter:  Kyeana Oliver (fur baby 'Kofi'); Daughter:  Alicia Lashawn Allen and her child:  Jala McCree (fur baby "Barkley");  Loretta Barnes was like a daughter to him;one sister:  Emma Jean Claud, a brother:  George Allen and wife Mary Ann, one sister-In-law:  Lessie Brown and a brother-In-law:  James L. Brown (deceased); four special friends:  Howard Barnes (deceased), Vernon Bryant, Atty. Ronnie Reaves and James Barnes; Jimmy Mack was like a son to him, that he took under his wings; a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

The Lord saw fit to call one of his servants home in the early morning of Sunday, February 14, 2021, at his residence in Gaston, NC with loved ones.
