His ashes will be scattered around his parents graves at Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, NC

On the morning of Friday, April 19, 2024 WILLIAM LANA HUGHES, 72 got his final call in Hampton Wood Manor, Gaston, NC. William was a life time residence of Northampton County, NC.  He was born November 11, 1951 in Northampton County, NC to the late William and Lillie Mae Simmons Hughes.

Survivors includes:  Daughters: Tonya Duval-Deceased and Lakesha Champion of New York, one grandson:  Anthony Duvall of Washington, DC

Parents: William Hughes and Lillie Mae Goode-both Deceased

Siblings: Carolyn Holloman- Deceased
Malinda McNeil and husband Reginald- Maryland
Gene Hughes and wife Lorraine-Maryland
Melvin Hughes - North Carolina
Betty Hughes and husband Michael- North Carolina
