Wilbert Lee Goode, lovingly known to all as "Mutt" or "Pig", began his earthly journey October 30, 1943, born to the late Aaron and Jesse Jones-Goode. Mutt was born in Jackson, North Carolina. He received his formal education through the Northampton County Public Schools system. At an early age, Mutt professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member.

On December 23, 1961, Mutt joined the love of his life, Ines Benjamin, in Holy Matrimony. This union was blessed with six children.

Mutt was a dedicated and hard worker at Barnhills for 28 years and always made sure that home was taken care of first. He was an excellent provider and  made sure that his children grew up not wanting for anything.

Mutt was a very outspoken person. His favorite line to say was, "How can I love you, when I don't love myself. Stir it in the pot, stink like a dog, smell like a billy goat, woo woo, then you know I'm here!" In result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.

God called him unto a special place in his garden on January 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his brothers: William Watson, Clayton Goode and Joe Willie Goode.
