Mrs. Viola Virginia Harris Pitt, 80 daughter of the late Tom and Ora Putney Harris was born October 21, 1934 in Halifax County, NC.
She expired Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC surrounded by her immediate family.
Mrs. Pitt attended John A. Chaloner School. She became a member of Twilight Baptist Church at a young age and was an Usher for many, many years.
She was employed in the sewing industry for years. Her favorite hobbies were, taking care of her plants, flowers and gardening. She had a love for taking care of others especially her granddaughters and her great grand kids.
She is preceded in death by her daughter: Debby Nickerson and her siblings: Oliva Price and Caroline Bowser.
She lives today and forever in the lives of: Her Loving Husband: Edward Pitt, Jr. of the home; A Son: Dennis Pitt and his wife Reponzail of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Her Grand-Daughters: Nikkii Pinkett of Delaware, Jessica Cox of Dallas, TX and Nicole Nickerson of Greensboro, NC and Jasmine Pitt of Greenville, NC; Only Two Great-Grand children; Her Sisters: Pearline Kearney and husband Tom of Michigan, Annie Howard and husband Phillip of Detriot, Michigan, Tonya K. Harris of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Half Siblings: Isaac Bowser of TN and Loretta Bowser of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Brother-in-Law James H. Pitt of
Roanoke Rapids, NC and sister-in-law Ruby Pitt of Roanoke Rapids, NC and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, Church family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015, 11:00 In The Morning at Twlight Missionary Baptist Church, Weldon, NC. The Pastor Rev. Danny Jones will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Her remains will repose in church one hour prior to the service.
There will be a private immediate family viewing Friday, September 18, 2015 at 12:30 In The Afternoon at the funeral parlor. A public viewing will be from 1 to 6 PM.
Floral Attendants will be nieces and cousins and Pall Bearers will be nephews and cousins
