Obituary

The Life of Bro. Ulysses Cornelius Kee, 80

From this world of pain and sorrow. To the land of peace and rest God has taken our dear loved one, where he'll find eternal rest.

God knew he was suffering, and the hills were hard to climb. So he gently closed his weary eyelids, and whispered, "Peace Be Thine."

This is to certify that Ulysses Cornelius Kee, 80, son of the late Ulysses G. and Jannie A. Harrison-Kee, was born December 7, 1932 in Gumberry (Northampton County), NC and departed this earthly life in the presence of his home in Garysburg, NC on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 6:55 p.m.

He was employed for many years at the Union Camp and the Cotton Gin in Seaboard, North Carolina. He also worked as a Farmer and a Gardener. He loved raising collards, sweet potatoes and many other vegetables.

At an early age, he united to New Jerusalem Apostolic Faith Church, Garysburg, NC where he remained a faithful member until his health failed.

Early in life he married the late Inez Clemonts and to this union a son was born. Then later he was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Mae Parker and to this union five children were born.

Preceded him in death, two sisters: Dorothy Kee Bynum and Barbara Kee; Three brothers: Isaiah Kee, Thomas Kee, and Romie W. Kee. May you all rest in peace.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Minister Betty Parker-Kee of the home; Six children: James Kee and wife Carolyn of Norfolk, VA, Marvin Kee and wife Lisa of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Bishop Tony Kee of Brooklyn NY, Rosa Kee of Manassas, VA, Eric Kee and wife Christina of Emporia, VA, and Frederick Kee of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Four Sisters: Elizabeth C. Kee, Maggie Banks and husband Henry, Eldress Josephine K. Easter and husband Bishop William Easter all of Garysburg, NC, Overseer Rosa Epps and husband Bishop Arthur of Rocky Mount, NC; Two brothers Bishop New Jenes Kee and wife Doshia of Garysburg, NC and Cal Kee of Jackson, NC; one aunt: Maggie Scott of Skippers, VA; one uncle: Elder Walter Harrison of Trenton, New Jersey; Four sisters-in-law: Naomi Broady of Seaboard, NC, Brenda Parker of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Evelyn Jeffress of Emporia, Va, and Ethel Williams of Newport News, Va. Six brothers-in-law: Elder Clyde Parker and wife Pastor Ruth of Weldon, NC, Herman Parker and wife Dorothy, John Parker and wife Mildred of Garysburg, NC, James Parker of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Eugene Parker of Delaware, and Westley Reid and wife Lois of Baltimore, MD, three special nieces, whom he helped raised: Josephine K. Holmes, Susie Kee, and Evelyn (Tate) Davis and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m.-Sunday, September 1, 2013, at New Jerusalem Holiness Church, Hwy 186, Garysburg, NC. Bishop Arthur Epps will deliver the Eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Rising Sun Holiness Church Cemetery, Emporia, VA.

A private immediate family viewing will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, 12:30 High Noon at the funeral parlor. A public viewing will be from 1-7 p.m.

Bro. Kee will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
