The Life of Susie "Sue Jane" Jane Scott, 64

GARYSBURG- Susie Jane Scott, 63, of 103 Grant Street, Garysburg, was born December 23, 1947, in Jackson, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Manson Scott and Viola Shearin. On Monday, August 8, 2011, around 9:48 p.m. at Bertie Memorial Hospital in Windsor, North Carolina, God found her a special place in his garden.

Susie attended Northampton County schools. Susie was a very fun-loving person. Susie worked hard at a young age; rearing her children and later grandchildren. She became a home attendant, caring for many clients. Susie enjoyed attending church, cleaning, talking, and spending time with family members.

Susie received Christ at an early age and joined St. Mark Holiness Church, under the leadership of Bishop Carlton Davis. Susie loved praising God.

Susie was preceeded in death by two sisters; Susie and Annie and three brothers; Wilbur, John D and Lewis.

Susie leaves, not to mourn, but cherish her fondest memories her loving children: Debbie Shearin and husband Ricky of Staten Island, NY, Larry Scott and wife Kisha of Weldon, NC and Jamica Parks and husband Terry of Gaston, NC. Two brothers Leroy Scott and wife Queen of Jackson, NC and Manson Shearin and wife Catherine of Garysburg, NC. Three uncles: Charlie Chambers and wife Donna of Garysburg, NC, George Chambers of Garysburg, NC and Clifton Chambers and wife Jennie of Staten Island, NY. Two aunts: Hattie M. Vincent, Garysburg, NC and Sallie Daniels and husband Paul of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Twelve grandchildren: Travis, Dexter, Ricky Jr., Jarmel, Latifah (Marquese) Kesuana, Keiona, Larry, Keshawn, Raheem and Shirley, and one great-grandson Marquese II. Susie reared Travis, Latifah, and Kesuana as her children. Special friends: Mary Lee Taylor, Stanley Long, Carolyn Burgess and Hattie M. Vincent. Susie leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private viewing will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 at 12:30 pm and a public viewing from 1-7 pm at Coleman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011, at New Jerusalem Holiness Church, Hwy 186 in Garysburg, with Bishop Carlton Davis, officating. Burial will follow in the Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Garysburg.

Floral Attendants will be nieces and Pall Attendants will be nephews and cousins.

A repast will follow in the Garysburg Town Hall Facility.
