Sweet Home, Sweet Home, Sweet Home is a beautiful home for Sudie Tripp Hudson, 97 of Grifton, NC who went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
She served the Lord as the Mother and Eldress for over 40 years.
Mrs. Hudson, daughter of the late Ledrew and Tiney Wiggins-Tripp, was born in Vanceboro, NC where she spent the majority of her life before moving to Grifton in 1999 to be close to her grandchildren.
She was the oldest of 9 siblings. She was an avid gardener and farmer, devoted reader/follower of scripture, found joy in helping others and shared her love of cooking. She attended Epworth School and later in life she attained her Blue Ribbon Health certificate and became a devoted caregiver. She will be missed by all who loved her, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Big Mama."
She served the Lord as the Mother and Eldress for over 40-years.
Sudie is preceded in death by Her Husband: Marvin Lester Hudson, Her Son: Ronald Lee Hudson, Her Grandsons: Ronald Hudson Jr & Gregory P. Whitford, all of Vanceboro, Her Parents: Ledrew & Tiney Tripp, of Ruffin SC, and Her Siblings: Donald Gray Tripp, Denard Tripp, & Linwood Earl Tripp all of Craven Co, and Kenneth Tripp & Dink Tripp of Ruffin SC.
She leaves behind to cherish Her memories: Daughter: Cassie H. Whitford of Vanceboro; Three Grandchildren: Cynthia Hudson, Rhonda H. Jordan of Grifton, & Jeff Whitford of Knightdale, NC; Six Great-Grandchildren: Jessica J. Andersen of NYC, Brandon Jordan of Winterville, Todd Whitford of Japan, Melissa Whitford of Knightdale, Morgan Hudson & Cortni Hudson of Grifton; Two Great-Great-Granddaughters: Amelia & Charlotte Andersen of NYC; Siblings: Joyce Brantley of Goldsboro & Marvin Tripp of Ruffin SC and Daughter-In-Law: Janet H. Rhodes of Grifton.
The family will receive family & friends after the service at 289 Robert Dr. Grifton, NC.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to send memorials to New Salem Church, 110 Bear Hole Road, Vanceboro, NC 28586.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, 2:00 O'Clock In The Afternoon, New Salem Pentecostal Holiness Church, 110 Bear Hole Road, Vanceboro, NC. Evangelist Noah Tripp and Pastor Adrian Arnett will deliver the Eulogists. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
There will be a private viewing for immediate family only, Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the church followed by a public viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 PM.
