Mother Sarah Bell Bennett Grant, 86
A viewing will be held at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 5605 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
Sarah Bell Bennett Grant, affectionately known as "Bell", was lovingly surrounded by her family when she peacefully departed this life on January 19, 2022, took her wings as it pleased the Almighty God, to transition from labor to reward.
Ms. Grant founded Grant's Residential Adult Care Enterprises which consisted of three Long Term Care Assisted Living Facilities: Cavalier Estates, Bell's Residential Adult Care, and Pruden Place. For thirty years her facilities have provided passionate, loving care to countless seniors.
Ms. Grant was predeceased by her husband, Reginald W. Grant, Sr; a daughter, Mary Magdalene Grant, two sisters, Rosa Lee Nixon, and Nannie Washington; four brothers, Richard Bennett, Charlie Bennett, Robert Bennett, and James Bennett.
Ms. Grant leaves to cherish her memories her devoted children, Ronald Grant, Barbara Grant, Linda Goodman (Dwight), Reginald W. Grant, Jr. (Barbara Jean), Cornelius Grant (Jocelyn), Charles E. Grant, Sr. (Lori), Carolyn Grant, and Marvin Grant; two sisters: Mother Betty Rose Bennett of Garysburg, NC and Mother Charles Anna Bennett of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, church families, and friends.
