The Life of Ruth Ella Price Robinson, 85
Ruth Ella Price Robinson, affectionately known as mother, grandmother and great grandmother. You have fought a good fight; you have finished your course; enter now into the joys of the Lord. She returned to her Heavenly Father on September 16, 2013 quietly in her home. Although the mortal heart has ceased to beat, the spirit has been filled with joy.
Mrs. Robinson was born October 4, 1927, to the late Lewis Price and Agnes Gilliam Price in South Hampton County, Virginia.
She met and married William Robinson, Sr. They were happily married for 36 years. From their union came eight children. Six sons: Larry, Purnell and Thurman all deceased, Rev. William Jr. of Rocky Mount, NC, Melvin and wife Salita of Halifax, NC and John and wife Carrie of Richmond, VA. Two daughters Gladys and husband Earl of Newnan, GA. and Joyce and husband Leon, Richmond, VA.
She was a long time resident of Halifax, NC. She accepted Christ at an early age. She served and truly loved the lord. Her convictions always stayed firmly to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
She attended South Hampton County Public School System.
She worked as a Housekeeper at The Horne's Motor for many years, and a Cook for the Twisdale Grill. She was a lifelong homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Family was always her most important priority. She will be remembered for cooking many great meals for them. Ruth was the person on which family and friends could always depend. She will always be remembered for her extraordinary musical ability. She sang superbly with the Halifax Spiritual Group until her health began to fail as all who heard her can attest. Her favorite song was "Didn't it Rain".
Mrs. Robinson loved the Allen Grove Baptist Church where she faithfully served as President of the Choir and remained a member until her demise. She worshipped every Sunday and attended most meetings. She loved visiting the sick and was a caregiver to all.
To continue her legacy of love are grandchildren , great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, 3 Sisters, Annie Artis, and Susie Jenkins, Spring Valley, NY, Agnes Holmes, Hampton, Virginia; A Special friend Mrs. Ella B. Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.
Funeral Arrangements for Ms. Ruth Ella Price Robinson, age 85, of 17351 Hwy 561, Halifax, NC, will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 12:00 O'Clock High Noon at Allen Grove Baptist Church, Hwy 561, Halifax, NC. Rev. Richard Battle will deliver the Eulogy. Rev. John Barham is the Church Pastor.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A private immediate family viewing will be held 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at the funeral parlor and a public viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Floral Attendants will be grand-daughters and great granddaughters, Pall Bearers will be the grandsons and great grandsons.
