The Life of Rudolph Ponton
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
Rudolph Ponton was born on July 26, 1951 to the late Jimmie Ponton and Viola Jordan, in Northampton County, NC and went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2010.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He attended the public schools of Northampton County. At an early age, he joined and was baptized at Faithful Band Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Viola and Jimmie Ponton and a brother Richard Ponton.
He leaves to cherish his memories: on daughter: Tedra Boone of Suitland, MD, two sons: Michael Branch (Kina) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Jermaine Garner of Seaboard, NC; five grandchildren: Shaheem Moore, Aumirikel Branch, Liltrinciya Branch all of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Jermya and Darea Garner of Seaboard, NC, three sisters: Beatrice Brown of Seaboard, NC, and Elizabeth and Ruth Ponton both of Garysburg, NC; one sister-In-Law: Ernestine Ponton of Pleasant Hill, NC, and a loving aunt Dorothy Stephenson of Margarettsville, NV. A special friend: Denise Crowell of Littleton, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1 pm at the Faithful Band Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, NC with Rev. Grogory Evans Officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
