Obituary

The Life and Legacy of the beautiful Ms. Queen Ester Lee, 68

A private viewing for immediate family only, will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, 12:30 PM. A public viewing will follow from 1 to 6 PM at the funeral parlor.

Her remains will repose at church from 2:00 PM till the funeral.

Funeral services will take place Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 PM, Greater Joy-North, 10th St., Roanoke Rapids, NC, Bishop Shelton Daniels-eulogist.

Rook Family Cemetery, Moore Rook Lane, Gaston, NC will be her final resting place.

It was about 9:59 on the morning of Friday, August 31, 2018, that the angel of death visited UNC-Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC, and whispered "Peace Be Still" to Queen Ester Lee, 68 to come and be rewarded.

She was the daughter of the late Mountain and Alice Mae Broady, born December 6, 1949 in Northampton County, NC. Her education was obtained from the Northampton County Public Schools.

Being a beautiful Mother, she enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes. Queen worked at Guardian Care (Signature Health Care), where she retired. She also worked part time at Liberty Commons Nursing Home, Weldon, NC.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories:  Her Husband:  Herman Lee of the home; Two Sons:  Thurman Lee of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Tony Lee also of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Four Grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren; Six Sisters:  Naomi High of Pleasant Hill, NC, Mattie Bell of Washington, DC, Sarah White of Pleasant Hill, NC, Annie Lee and husband Christopher of Pleasant Hill, NC, Ida Lee and husband Douglas of Garysburg, NC, and Irene Lee of Roanoke Rapids, NC; One Brother:  Floyd Broady of Pleasant Hill, NC; Five Brothers-In-Law; Two Sisters-In-Law; Two Aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Also remember the life of her loving Son: Jesse Lee; Her Sisters: Sallie Broady, Pearlie Squire and Her Brother: William Rook
