The Life of Mr. Peoler "Mike" Grant, 52

Mr. Peoler Grant, 52, of 801 Washington Ave., Weldon, NC, died Monday, October 29, 2012 in Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Peoler, son of Rosa Mae Grant and the late Walter Grant was born February 19, 1960 in Jackson, NC. He received his education through the Northampton County Public School System. After graduating, he decided to move to Newport News, VA where he became an employee of Virginia Transfer and Storage. Through that job he met his wife-to-be, Carolyn Louise Alford and the two were married in l983. From their union came two children, Michelle Alease and Michael Peoler Grant.

Mike worked 25-years for Branscome Construction Inc. to provide for his family. He was a faithful member of Beulah Tabernacle Church, Newport News, VA, where he served as an Elder under the Leadership of Apostle Harry Das.

He always enjoyed working on projects and staying busy. He dedicated time Ministering to those in the Newport News Union Mission, The Riverside Convalescant Center, and various homeless shelters along with his family. He always dreamed to one day return to his home in North Carolina, and he did see that dream fulfilled.

Peoler will be remembered by the love for his family, his willingness to help others, his giving spirit, his ever-present sense of humor, and his big smile.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife: Carolyn Alford-Grant of the home; his children: Michael Peoler Grant and Michelle Alease Grant; his mother: Mrs. Rosa Mae Harrell-Grant, Garysburg, NC; six-brothers and sisters-In-law: William Harrell and wife Mary of Lexington, NC, James Walter Grant and wife Annabell of Weldon, NC, Raymond "Skeet" Grant and wife Pattie of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Tim Grant and wife Maria of Halifax, NC, Stoney Grant and wife Fannie of Halifax, NC, and Melvin Ramsey and wife Ellen of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two sisters and brothers-In-law: Flora Jean Dawson and husband David of Las Vegas, NV, and Mary Ann Long and husband Sandy Rex of Halifax, NC; three uncles: Leven "Snow" Harrell and Bonklin "Knot" Harrell both of Garysburg, NC and John "Candy" Harrell, Trenton, NJ.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm from the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 4110 Bryantown Rd., Jackson, NC where Rev. B. Williams is Pastor.

Apostle Harry Das will deliver the Eulogy for Mr. Grant.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be a private viewing for the immediate family Saturday, November 3rd at 12:30 pm. A public viewing will be held from 1 to 7 pm in the chapel.
