Pearl Ruth Coker, 75

A private viewing for immediate family will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 4:00 O'Clock PM at the funeral parlor.

Public viewing at church one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, 12:00 O'Clock High Noon, Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Cornwallis Road, Garysburg, NC, Rev. Elton Buffaloe eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pearl Ruth Coker 73, of Durham NC was born May 3, 1949 to the Late Irene Mitchell Spivey and Lattimo Coker in Gumberry NC. She departed this life Sunday, June 19, 2022 in the comfort of her home in Durham NC.

Pearl attended Gumberry High School and was a faithful servant of the Lord, beginning early in childhood, when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was faithful in her attendance at church and loved reading and discussing the Word.

Pearl moved to New Jersey after graduating high school. She attended Cosmetology School and graduated successfully. On November 24 th 1973 she married Willie Seabron and unto this Union three daughters were born, Danna, Tiffany and Dorene. She was a faithful member of Bright Hope Baptist Church in Montclair New Jersey for several years, serving as a Deaconess, on the usher board, and Sunday School teacher. She was extremely involved and was a lender of helping hands when and wherever needed.

Pearl worked as a Quality Control Specialist at Varityper Technnologies in East Hanover, NJ for over 10 years. When the company downsized, she was gainfully employed at KDI Electronics in Whippany, New Jersey, where she worked as a Quality Assurance Technician for over 15 years. In 1994, she joined St Matthews AME Church in Orange New Jersey and was a faithful member for 5 years.

In 2000, Pearl relocated to Durham NC, where she became a member of Northeast Baptist Church. She worked in the medical field as a Home Health Aid and later retired from the VA medical Center where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

After the passing of her daughter Tiffany in 2003, Pearl was awarded custody of her first grandchild Brittany. Pearl took on this opportunity with no hesitation and raised Brittany with all the love imaginable, she preached the importance of education and saw her through grade school as well as college. Brittany has earned her Bachelor's Degree as well as her Master's Degree in Social Work and is currently working as a Therapist. It was Pearls deepest desire to be of support to her granddaughter in any and every possible way and witness Brittany in all of her accomplishments, and this she was able to do.

Pearl loved reading her Bible, Playing Gospel Music, Bowling, Playing Cards (Bid WiS was her favorite), Crocheting and Most of All, spending time with her Grand Children. Pearl was a natural born teacher, She loved to tell it like it was even if you didn't want to hear it! She laughed, joked, played and prayed with and for her family. She was kindhearted and would go out her way to help anybody, She unconditionally loved and gave of herself to so many. Her favorite saying was, "I'm Blessed and Highly Favored"! and that she was.

She is preceded in death by; one daughter: Tiffany Nicole Seabron, a brother: Rocky Lee Coker Sr., and one nephew : Rocky Lee Coker Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 Daughters: Danna Monique Seabron of Durham NC, Dorene Dunn-El and husband Edward of Raleigh NC; 3 Grand Daughters: Brittany Brown of Charlotte NC, Kennedy Seabron of Raleigh,NC and Khalia Andrews of Durham NC; 3 Grand Sons: Drew, Edward Jr., and William Dunn-El of Raleigh ,NC; 1 Aunt: Sue Buffaloe of Garysburg NC; One Sister: Wendy Spivey of Durham NC; 1 Neice: Ashley Spivey of Durham NC; 2 Nephews: Ira Spivey of Durham NC, Reginald Peebles of Garysburg NC and her BFF of over 50 years Margaret Miller of East Orange New Jersey. A Host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.
