NANCY FIELDS LINDSAY, 78, a native of Henrico, NC, expired Friday, February 2, 2024 in Bridge Point Hospital, Washington, DC.
Nancy Louise Fields-Lindsay was born on January 26, 1946, to the late William and Lula Mae Fields in Brunswick, Virginia.
She received her formal education from the Northampton County School System.
She confessed her faith in Christ and joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined The Heavenly Train Station, where she attended until her health declined.
Nancy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She had a caring spirit. There was always cooking, and would have a great conversation going on around the kitchen table. (If you know, you know!)
She was employed at DrugCo in Washington, D.C. for many years. She later worked as a private housekeeper for many families in the Northern Virginia area, until she relocated back to North Carolina to help her ailing mother. Over the years her health failed while in North Carolina, and she moved back to Washington, D.C. to live with her brother Tillman and his wife Willie, where she resided for the past eighteen months.
Everyone that knew her, loved her and the love will forever be cherished by her siblings: Raymond Johnson of Gaston, NC, Thomas Fields and wife Emma of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Joseph A. Fields and wife Vickie of Henrico, NC, Tillman Fields and wife Willie of Washington, DC, Alice Fields of Henrico, NC, Elder Queen Porter-Burgess and husband Bishop James of Gaston, NC; Two Sisters-In-Law: Brenda Fields, of Rocky Mount, NC, and Catherine Fields of Gaston, NC; her best friend: Louise Adams for over 55 years, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins and many friends.
Nancy is now eternally enjoying the pleasures of heaven with her parents: her husband: Charles, her loving son: Jerome, sisters: Mary Jane and Lillie Bell, brothers: Rudolph, Linwood, Nathaniel, James Lewis, Albert, Andrew, William Henry and Jimmy,
May you all rest in peace and have a blessed reunion.
Special thanks to Tillman and his wife Willie for taking loving care of Nancy at their home.
Thank you to Eastern Bridge Place and Bridge Point at the Harbor.
Asia Downing (Ava) Keimoni Spence and Jasmine Andrews.
