The Life of Michael Edwin Wilson, 48
Michael Edwin Wilson was born on April 12, 1966 to Barbara Jean Hughes and the late Felix Wilson at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC and departed this life on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Michael was raised in Philadelphia, PA, where attended Parochial Schools. Michael graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1984.
Michael worked for the US Postal Service for 10 years. After leaving the Postal Service, he worked several other jobs until he left Philadelphia in 2000 and moved to North Carolina where he worked for both the North Carolina and Virginia Correctional Systems.
Michael was very mechanical and enjoyed fixing things around the house. He always wanted everyone to be happy. He was always telling jokes to make people laugh. He kept a smile on his face. Keep on smiling Michael. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
He was preceded in death by his father: Felix Wilson, his step-father: Anthony Hughes, grandmothers: Mary Clanton and Jesse Anderson and his grandfather: Ocie Clanton.

Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, His mother: Barbara Hughes of Weldon, NC; One sister: Felicia Wilson of Philadelphia, PA, A brother: Maurice A. Wilson of Charlotte, NC, Eleven aunts: Jeanette Anderson of Eastover, SC, Gwendolyn Kydd and husband Richard of Elkins, Park, PA, Delores Tulloss and husband Charles of Alpharetta, GA, Laura Walker and husband Josh of Oxon Hill, MD, Mary Rook and husband Ervin of Garysburg, NC, Florine Ellis and Ann Cole both of Durham, NC, Ernestine Mitchell of Newport News, VA, Angela Wright and husband Keith of Mauldin, SC, Cynthia Asifo and husband Godwin of Kemp Spring, MD, and Monica Worrell of Newport News, VA; Two uncles: Raymond Simmons of Newport News and Ocie Clanton, Jr. and wife Diane of Kemp Springs, MD; Mother-In-Law: Mable Williams of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Four Sisters & Brothers-In-Law: Sarah Manning and husband Zacchaeus, of Garysburg, NC, Patricia Bellfield and husband William, Linda Williams and husband Alexander, Barbara Williams and husband Curtis all of Gaston, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Church Family and Friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Michael Wilson will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014--1:00 In The Afternoon, Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Sycamore St., Weldon, NC, Elder Clarence Harris will officiate. Bishop William H. Cheek, Sr. is the Founding Pastor and Presiding Prelate.
Burial will follow in the Clanton Family Cemetery, Enfield, NC. Floral Attendants and Pall Bearers will be cousins and friends.
There will be an immediate family viewing Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 12:30 PM at the funeral parlor with a public viewing following from 1 to 6 PM.
