This is to certify that Matthew "Mack" Owens, 65 was born August 7, 1945 in Northampton County, NC to the late Samuel and Janie Dickens-Owens and expired Friday, August 27, 2010 in UNC-Chapel Hill Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC. He is also preceded in death by a brother: Edward Owens.
Mack was educated by Northampton County Public Schools and was employed for over 30 years with Coastal Lumber Company, Weldon, NC until retirement.
He confessed Jesus Christ as his Savior at a very early age and attended St. Mark Holiness Church,under Bishop Grady Manning.
Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife: Iris C. Owens of the home, his children: Janie Garlngton and husband Theodore, Asbury Park, NJ, Thomas Owens,Asbury Park, NJ, Evangelist Edwards Owens and wife Felecia, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Golden Owens, Asbury Park, NJ, Tina Jones and husband James, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Raheem Jones, Asbury Park, NJ, and Felecia Ellis, Washington, DC; Thirteen Grandchildren: A Son-In-Law: Andrae Foster; Three Sisters: Annie Jones and husband Pree, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Dozie Simmons and husband Ernest, Washington, DC, and Helen Price and husband Willie, Petersburg, VA; a Mother-In-Law: Joyce Clanton, Roanoke Rapids, NC; Three Brothers-In-Law: Michael Carter, Stephen Clanton, and Derrick Clanton and wife Monique; a special cousin: Nathaniel Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, other In-Laws, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 1 pm at Emmanuel Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, Weldon, NC, Elder Curtis Ransom, Pastor-Officiating and Evangelist Edward Owens, Officiating.
Burial will be in the Owens Family Cemetery, Enfield, NC.
