The Life of Mother Louise James Moody Moore, 101
Lousie James Moody Moore, the daughter of the late James and Rosa Moody was born on January 10,
1912 in Northampton County, North Carolina.
She received her education through the public schools of Northampton County.
At an early age, she confessed Christ and received Him as her personal Savior and joined the Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church, Gaston, NC where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. She served on the Helping
Hands Ministry, Pastor's Aide and Missionary Ministry.
"Miss Louise", as she was affectionately called was married to John Henry Moore, who preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage. They were blessed with three sons: Robert, Steward and William of whom Robert and William preceded her in death.
"Ms. Louise" served as a domestic worker for many years. Her hobbies included witnessing about the goodness of Jesus, reading her Bible, singing religious hymns, working her beautiful flower-vegetable gardens and cooking on Sunday mornings: her favorite fried chicken and gravy, cheese-n-eggs, biscuits, sweet potato pies and sweet breads.
"Ms. Louise" was also a mother of the neighborhood to the Robinson's and Macklin's children and also those that ever came to meet her, she would help raise the as well. She will be greatly missed.
Suddenly, on Tuesday evening, March 28, 2013, at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC God chose a beautiful flower from his garden "Ms. Louise" into eternal rest.
Those she left behind to cherish her legacy: one son: Steward Moore; one granddaughter: Shirley Moore and one great-granddaughter:
Devonna Moore, both she reared as her own; One daughter-in-law: Gracie Moore; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-eight great-great- grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many friends. "WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA LOUISE."
Funeral Services for Mother Moore, will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church, Gaston, NC; 1:00 In The afternoon. Rev. Jeremiah Webb, (an associate Minister of First Baptist Church, Weldon, NC) will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A private viewing for immediate family only will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Public viewing begins at 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
