The Life of Mrs. Lizzie Anne Miles Wyche
Lizzie Anne Miles Wyche was born May 21, 1913 in Northampton County, NC to the late Henry Harvey and Sallie Bettie Sykes Miles.
At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of this branch of Zion,Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church until her mobility declined. She always kept Chapel Grove in her heart.
The Lord blessed her with two children. She was married to the late Mr. Robert "Bubba" Wyche.
Momma was an independent woman: She was biblical "Elizabeth." She cheriched her family and her community. Momma loved to cook and shared Sunday dinners with the close knit Maple Street extended family. She knew Gods word and mentored many in the word. She was a witnesss for the Lord. He voice in prayer and song was gift from God that touched us all.
Peacefully she transcended to eternal life on March 4, 2010 in the Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
She is preceded in death by her loving daughter: Pearlie M. Hunter; a dovoted Son-In-Law: William L. Hunter, Sr. and a Daughter-In-Law: Jewel Wyche.
Those life to cherish her loving memories are her son: James Wyche, Coopperas Cove, TX; seven grandchildren: Edward C. Miles, Sr., Hyattsville, MD, William Hunter, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Glenda D. Hunter and Matilda F. Hunter both of Kingstowne, VA, Dwight M Hunter, Sr. and wife Deborah, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Stevie Williams, Dallas TX, Jean Susa, Berlin, Germany; four great-grandchildren: Edward C. Miles, Dwight M. Hunter, Jr., William L. Hunter, III and Lindsay J. Hunter; one niece and nephew; Ms. Lucille Miles and Mr. William Henry Miles, both of New York, Close cousins; Clarence Harris and wife Queenie; Phillip Harrison "Sonny" and wife Linda; Monroe Harris and wife Marie, and a host of other realtives, cousins, church famly and friends.
The family wishes to recognize her extended family at Guardian Care Nursing Facility. Her special family: Dorothy, Mary and LaPonda who cared for her as if she were their grandmother too, thank you Ladies.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 1pm at the Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Garysburg, NC with Rev. Elbert Earl Lee Officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Garysburg, NC.
