It was in the afternoon of Monday, December 2, 2025 that the death angel visited LILLIAN BUFFALOE SHEARIN, 91 in Bon Secours-Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, VA and called her to rest.
Lillian was born March 18, 1934 in Northampton County, NC to the late Etherd Daniel Brooks Bufffaloe and Rosa Ann Walden, but she resided in Richmond, VA.
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Lillian B. Shearin, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Kenny and Derrick Shearin. Lillian gave her life to God at a young age and radiated kindness, strength, and grace. She carried these gifts with her throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. She extended her hand to help those in need and lovingly raised many who were not family by blood but became family through her care.
In addition to her devotion to loved ones, Lillian found joy in gardening, cooking, and tending to her cherished flowers.
Lillian leaves behind her children to cherish her memories: Brenda Hooker of Richmond, VA, James Shearin wife Felicia of Garysburg. NC, Ernest Shearin wife Susan of Richmond, VA, Denise Vauters of Richmond, VA, Jerome Shearin of Boykins, VA, Sondra Shearin of Herndon, VA, Troy Shearin of Hopewell, VA, Wydell Shearin of Richmond, VA, Yolanda McCoy husband Kevin of Richmond, VA and extended daughter Erica McElroy of Richmond, VA, along with a host of grandchildren and family. Two life long friends: Emma Barber and Gladys Williams.
Lillian's life was a blessing, and her memory remains a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
