The Life of Leroy Scott, Sr., 73

LEROY SCOTT,SR.73, the son of the late Viola Shearin and Jimmy Scott was born on July 1, 1938 in Northampton County, NC. He peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Leroy worked in construction for 45-years. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family.

He accepted Christ into his life and was a faithful member of Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Garysburg, NC under the leadership of Rev. Elbert E. Lee.

On April 1, 1960, Leroy was United In Holy Matrimony to Queen V. Benjamin and to this union, God blessed them with seven lovely children.

He is also preceded in death by one sister: Susie Jane Scott and four brothers: Wilbur Shearin, John D. Scott, Jimmy Lewis Scott and Thomas Lewis Scott.

Scott of the home; Seven Children: Leroy Scott, Jr and wife Betty, Weldon, NC, Randolph Scott and wife Regina, Garysburg, NC, Alvin Scott and wife Katherine, Gaston, NC, Donald Ray Scott and wife Yvette, Gaston, NC, Sandra Scott, Gaston, NC, Stevie Scott of Jackson, NC and Antonio Scott of Roanoke Rapids, NC;Two Sisters: Beulah Stevenson of New Jersey and Bee White of Phila., PA; A Brother: Manson Lee Shearin and wife Catherine of Garysburg, NC; Two Aunts: Hattie Simmons Vincent, Garysburg, NC and Sallie Mae Daniels and husband Paul, Roanoke Rapids, NC; Three Uncles: George Chambers, Garysburg, NC, Clifton Chambers and wife Jennie, Staten Island, NY and Charlie Chambers and wife Donna, Garysburg, NC; Four Sisters-In-Law: Alberta Greene, Catherine Autry, Thelma Lee Scott and Loretta Harris; Fifteen Grandchildren, Eleven Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Leroy Scott, Sr. 73, of 195 Caroline Jones Trail, Jackson, North Carolina who died Thursday, September 15, 2011 in his residence--will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Garysburg, NC. Pastor Elbert E. Lee will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A private viewing will be held Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 12:30 pm at the funeral home with a public viewing Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 1 to 7 pm.
