The Life of Juan Hernandez, 75

A public viewing will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the funeral parlor from 3 to 5 PM and Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 12 to 5 PM. Due to COVD-19 and Governor Roy Cooper's rule order 121, only four people will be allowed to enter the funeral parlor at a time and must be wearing a facial mask.

Graveside Services will be Monday, June 1, 2020 12:00 O'Clock High Noon, Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Cornwallis Road, Garysburg, NC. No more than 50-people will be allowed to attend and must be wearing a facial mask. Social distancing will be inforced.

Rev. Edwin Horsley will be the eulogist.

It was in the early morning of Thursday, May 21, 2020 that the angel of death paid a visit to Juan Hernandez, 75 in Garysburg, NC, to come and take your journey.

Juan was born in Puerto Rico to the late Juan & Filomena Lebron Hernandez.

He attended PF 56 School in New York City. He was a man of many talents. He worked in the furniture industry, roofing, carpentry  and was self employed for many, many years. He had a special gift for gardening and was a great collector of many things.

In recent years he became a member of Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Late Rev. Robert Sessoms.

He is survived by; Two Sisters: Juanita Hernandez-England of Lehigh Acres, FL, Lillian Hernandez, Phila., PA and Leiva Perez who preceded him in death; Two Brother:  Antonio M. Hernandez of New York City and Manuel Hernandez of FL; many, many nieces, nephews, his special caretaker: Joyce E. Brown and his close friend: Ellis C. McGee, his church family and many friends.
