The life of Mr. Johnnie Mac Newsome, 66

A viewing for immediate family (Children, Grandchildren, Sisters and his devoted friend) will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, 12:30 In The Afternoon, followed by a public viewing  (nieces, nephews and the public) from  3 to 6 PM at the funeral parlor.

We are following the protection rules during this COVID-19 pandemic. You must have on a facial mask to enter the funeral parlor. Only 4-people will be allowed to enter at a time.

At his request before his demise he wanted a private Graveside Services: it will be Sunday, October 4, 2020, 10:30 In The Morning, Dailey Memorial Gardens, Gumberry, NC with Rev. Mark Barfield officiating.

Johnnie Mac Newsome, son of the late MaCollie & Emma Johnson-Newsome was born on March 14, 1954 in Northampton County, NC. He peacefully departed his life on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Vidant North Hospital, Roanoke Rapids, NC.

He received his education from the Northampton County School System.  He was employed for many years as a Correctional Officer for the NC prison system and Northampton County Public Works, Jackson, NC.

In addition to his parents, Johnnie Mac Newsome was preceded in death by a sister: Margaret Purnell.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters: Semiko Jacobs and husband Patrick, Garysburg, NC, Brittan'y Newsome, Wake Forest, NC and Ashley Newsome, Fort Lauderdale, FL; His Son:  Jacque Cumbo, Charlotte, NC; His Grandchildren:  Jerome, Aniya, Antwane, Dontae and Sereniti; His devoted Fiance':  Brenda D. Garris-Johnson of the home; Five Sisters:  Geneva Joyner, Jackson, NC, Gladys Mallory of Statesville, NC, Geraldine Williams, Seaboard, NC, Rosa Newsome, Margaretsville, NC and Dorothy Edward and husband Percy of Conway, NC; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers and friends.

It was on the early morning of Sunday, September 27, 2020, in Vidant North Hospital, Roanoke Rapids, NC the angel of death visited Johnnie Mac Newsome, 66 of Roanoke Rapids, NC (a former native of Northampton County, NC) to come from labor to reward.

His sisters: Geneva Newsome and Gladys Mallory will be accepting Door walk visits at Geneva's home in Jackson, NC.
