The Life of Mr. John E. Grant, 70
On October 21, 1943, John Earl Grant, a son of the late Etta Kee Grant and Joseph Ernest (Dick) Grant was born.
Saturday,December 28, 2013, John claimed his eternal rest.
He graduated from Gumberry High School in 1962 and went to serve his country in the United States Army. Following his tour of duty, he moved to Hackensack, New Jersey where he worked for many years. Upon his return home, he worked construction until his health forced him to retire.
Left to remember...are his daughters: Nicole Gilbert and husband Leroy of Mt. Vernon, NY, Carolyn Gibson and Christy Gibson-Mann of Jacksonville, FA; Two brothers: Clarence Branch, Jr and wife Mattie of Raleigh, NC and Cardell Grant and wife Ella of Garysburg, NC; Aunts: Portia Harding of Garysburg, NC, Susie Kee of Richmond, VA, and Alga and Delois Kee both of New York City, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A dear devoted friend of many years; Annie, Jamiann; a grandchild that he reared as his own: Delamon.
John's brother, Millard Grant preceded him in death.
Funeral Services for Mr. Grant will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, 1:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel, Garysburg, NC. Pastor Edith Ramsey of Jackson, NC will deliver the Eulogy and Rev. David Ausby will be the Organist.
Burial will follow in St. John Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson Bypass, Garysburg, NC.
There will be a private viewing for the immediate family only on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 12:30 PM in the chapel. A public viewing will be held the morning of the service.
Mr. Grant is resting in the comfort of Coleman Funeral Home and Staff, Because...WE...Care...
