Mr. Joe H. Sessoms, Jr., 93

Joe Henry Sessoms, Jr. son of the late Joe Henry Sessoms, Sr. and Ida Mady Chambliss Sessoms, was born April 17, 1926 in Isle Of Wight County, Franklin, Virginia.

He received his education at Camptown Elementary School. during his younger years he was baptized and joined Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin, Virginia. He moved to Garysburg, North Carolina in 1998 and was faithful in going to New Jerusalem Church. He loved Bishop Perry and the Saints.

In the year of 1944 he was inducted in the United States Division of the Navy, and was a good looking guy in his Navy blue uniform. He loved to get dress and attend church on second Sundays.

He peacefully departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia.

Mr. Sessoms will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Joe leaves to cherish his memories, A Sister;  Minister Queen Alice Sessoms of Garysburg, NC; A Nephew:  Ronald Lee Sessoms and wife Joyce of Garysburg, NC; A special cousin: Dorothy Johns, Virginia Beach, VA; His former caregivers:  Reynold and Marva Polts, other relatives cousins and friends.

One brother preceded his in death: Lloyd C. Sessoms.

There will be a private immediate family viewing Sunday, July 31, 2016, 12:30 PM at the funeral parlor with a public viewing from 1 to 6 PM.

Floral Attendants and Pall Bearers will be Saints and Friends.
