The Life of Ms. Joann Purnell, 57

There will be a private viewing for immediate family only , on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 12:30  to 1:00 In The Afternoon at the funeral parlor, followed by a public viewing from 3:00 PM 6:00 PM.

We will be following the rules for COVID-19. You must be wearing a facial covering to enter the funeral parlor. Only 4-people will be allowed to enter the funeral parlor at a time.

Services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020, 11:00 In The Morning on the front lawn of Coleman-McGee Funeral Home, 201 Old Hwy Rd., Garysburg, NC. Only 50-people will be allowed to attend this service including the Funeral Director, Minister, program participants and family.

Rev. Cornell Watson, Sr., will officiate: Pastor of Zoar Missionary Baptist Church, Pendleton, NC.

Once again the chain has been broken in the Purnell Family...on Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Vidant North Hospital, Roanoke Rapids, NC the death angel came for Joann Purnell, 57 of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Joan Purnell, daughter of the late George Willie Purnell and Shirley Branch was born March 09, 1963 in Newport News, VA. She received her formal education from the Halifax County County School System.

She enjoyed riding with family and friends, enjoyed going out to eat buffet. She also enjoyed eating jelly beans and her favorite words were, "BAM BAM".

Treasured memories will remain with Her Children: Jacqueline Blount of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Nathaniel Moore of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Micheal Blount and wife Tamera of Greenville, NC; Her Grandchilden:  Ashanit Johnson, Eric Bount, Tatiyana Sesson, Adrian Blount and Tristan Blount; Her Brothers:  Willie Purnell, Marvin Purnell and wife Stacey and  David Purnell and wife Rosa; Her Sisters:  Linda Warren, Kathleen Purnell, Caroline Gills and husband Dennis and Barbara Purnell all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; many Aunts, Uncles, a special friend: Dennis Hudson, one special Aunt, who she called her twin: Louise Graham; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
