The Life of Jeffery Washington

Mr. Jeffery Washington, 44, of 500 Atherton St., Jackson, NC, died Thursday , Nov. 4, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Jeffery our husband, father, uncle, brother, friend and hero was the son of the late Rebecca Washington and Louis Ponton was born November 17, 1966 in Northampton County, NC, where he lived until reaching adulthood.

At an early age he confessed Christ and became a member of Boone's Chapel Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. R. H. Kidd.

He graduated from Northampton County High School-East in l986. He was a player of basketball and football teams while at East.

Jeffery habits were fishing, grilling, and gardening. He was a loving man that helped people anytime he could.

He met Romes H. Washington in 1998. They were married in Holy Matrimony.

He was employed with Jackson Masonery for nearly 30-years.

On Thursday, November 4, 2010,m between eight-thirty and eight-fiftyfive in the morning, he departed his life in Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Those left to cherish his memories are; his loving wife: Romes Holmes-Washington of the home, two daughters: Temeah Bradley, Weldon, NC, Natasha Holmes, Morehead City, NC, and one grandchild: Jatarra Bradley, Weldon, NC, four sisters: Tammy Lynn Washington, Jackson, NC, Jeanette Harris and husband Tracy, Richmond, VA, LaVeras Tann, Jacksonville, FL and Regina Bradley, Jacksonville, FL; Two brothers: Marty Maurice Washington, Roanoke Rapids, NC and Tyrone Washingtonm Seaboard, NC; Aunts: Alee Ponton, Jackson, NC, Mable Harris and husband Coley, Jackson, NC and those preceded him in death are: Louise, Elizabeth,Lucille, Althea, Almetha and Verlene. Uncles that preceded him in death are: Willie Washington, James Washington, William Washington and Herman Ponton. A Mother-In-Law: Esther Lucille Small and a Father-In-Law: James Henry Wilson all of Morehead City, NC and a host of Sisters-In-Law, Brothers-In-Law, other nieces, nephews,relatives, cousins and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010, 1:00 pm at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Alice Johnson, Pastor of True Gospel Tabernacle Church, Roanoke Rapids, NC Officiating.

Interment will follow in Dailey Memorial Gardens, Gumberry, NC.

A viewing will be help Monday, November 8, 2010 at the funeral home from 1 to 7 pm.
