Janetta Alicia Chambliss was born June 4, 1967 to the late Marshall Alvin Chambliss and Ruby Artis Gary, in Bronx, NY. She went home to be with the Lord, on December 17, 2024.
Janetta attended Greensville County High School, Emporia VA, and later graduated from Gumberry High School in Northampton County, NC.
Janetta was very kind hearted, soft spoken, easy to get along with person that always wore a smile. She was a person that never forgot your birthday and never mind telling you that she loved you. Janetta loved church even as a child, sung in the choir at a young age at St. John Holiness Church, Staten Island, New York. One of her favorite songs was, "Never Alone". In her twenties, she sung in the family group, The Gary Family Singers. Janetta's faith in God was always present. When Janetta branched off on her own journey in Christ, she joined Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Weldon, NC and was a faithful member. She looked forward to attending every Sunday and carried her Bible in her purse, everywhere she went, out of town, to the store, visiting family members, it didn't matter. She may not have had have much in her purse, but her Bible was in there. Some family members would laugh and call her Sister Patterson, and she would just hunch her shoulders and say, her favorite words "Uhhuh", but she had her Bible.
Her greatest accomplishments were her 3 children; Erica, Jasmine, and Craig, whom she devoted her life too. She had so much patience with her children and cared for them the best way she knew how. Janetta truly loved her family and friends, near or far.
Janetta is preceded in death by her parents: Marshall Chambliss, Ruby Artis Gary, stepfather: James Gary, Her daughter: Erica Chambliss, and a brother: Gregory Chambliss.
