The Life And Legacy of Mr. James C. Baker, 78
Once again death has come to take our beloved James C. Baker, 78 of Southgate Roanoke, Rapids, NC to be rewarded. Mr. Baker expired Sunday, May 8, 2016 in Signature Healthcare of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
He was born of the late Fannie Johnson and Raleigh Baker in Halifax County, NC on November 22, 1937.
Cornelius (as he was most lovingly called) went to Print School in Halifax, NC. At a young age he left North Carolina for work in Pennsylvania then settling in New York. Cornelius, retired from the Grand Union Supermarket Chain in 1994 and returned home to care for his mother. As the oldest of nine siblings, he always wanted to make sure his family was taken care of.
Left to cherish his memories are: His Sister: Virginia Martin of Jacksonville, NC; His Brother: Larry Brown of Roanoke Raids, NC; Two Sisters-In-Law: Gloria Brown of Weldon, NC and Dorothy Baker of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins and friends. Those who knew him, knew him as a kind and loving man.
Floral Attendants and Pall Bearers will be nieces and nephews.
Rev. David Ausby will be the Musician-In-Charge
The Family will meet at the funeral parlor at 11:45 AM for the line up.
