Ines Benjamin, lovingly known to all with many nicknames, "Juicy, Idella, Plug, Big Jaws, Puss, Nelly Welly and Nelly Belly", began her earthly journey on May 23, 1945, born to the late Rachel Webb and Willie Banks. She was born in Bertie, North Carolina and received her formal education through both Bertie and Northampton County School Systems. At an early age, Ines professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Antioch Baptist church where she was baptized and a dedicated member.

On December 23, 1961, Ines joined the love of her life, the late Wilbert Goode in Holy Matrimony. This union was blessed with six children.

Ines was a dedicated and hard worker at JP Stevenson for 15 years, Econo Lodge for 15 years, Halifax Linen for 3 years and Private Duty Home Health for 20 years. Ines always provided, nurtured and made sure that her entire household was well provideed.

Ines loved being in the presence of her children. She was very family oriented to an extent and spoke what was on her mind no matter how ugly it may have sound. She had a nickname for everybody that she came in contact with and had a smile that would brighten up anyone's day, enjoyed cooking her famous homemade biscuits and cornbread, enjoyed going on field trips, attending concerts and dancing to her favorite old school music jams. Ines was always filled with joy and love. Everybody that came in contact with her, always built a strong loving bond with her. Her presence, love, and friendship will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

God called her unto a special place in his garden on January 31, 2024 in her residence. She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters: Dora Webb, Rachel Leth Webb and Reatha Mae Williams; 3 brothers: James Webb, Nathan Webb and Dwight Banks.
