The Life of Elder Henry Banks, 83
Elder Henry Banks, the youngest son of the late Joseph Banks and Isabel Williams was born on July 12, 1933 in Jackson, North Carolina and departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, about 4:24 PM in his home surrounded by his wife and daughter.
Henry was a protective, caring and generous husband and father that worked hard to provide for his family. He truly loved all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Henry had a deep love for the Word of God and he never held a conversation that did not exhort the Lord. His hobbies included watching western movies, fishing,hunting, gardening and working on automobiles.
He was preceded in death by His Sister: Hattie and Brothers: Willie, Joseph, Claiborne, Fred, Nelson and His Loving Daughter: Hattie Mae.
Those left to cherish His memories are: His wife, Maggie Kee-Banks of the home; His Children: Carolyn Kee, Durham, NC, Evelyn Russell and husband Steven, Durham, NC, Joyce Davis, Durham, NC, Janie Bright and husband Joe Willie, Raleigh, NC, Hazel Banks, Gumberry, NC, Henrietta Scott and husband Lance, Durham, NC, William Banks and wife Christine, Durham, NC, Marcus Banks and wife Tammy, Durham, NC, Thirteen Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren; Margaret Lowe and husband Coleman, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Hattie Banks (deceased) and husband Samuel, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Helen Jackson, Far Rockaway, NY, Jeremiah Banks, Springfield, MD, Mary Banks and husband Calvin, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Willie Banks and wife Dorothy, Garysburg, NC, Rufus Banks, Garysburg, NC, Gloria Hagan and husband Lorenzo, Garysburg, NC, Essie Banks, Garysburg, NC, Alvin Banks, Raleigh, NC, Thirty Grandchildren and twenty two Great-Grandchildren; His Sister: Tillie Mae; Brothers-In-Law; Sisters-In-Law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many friends.
Henry's last message to his family was , "Tell them all I love them."
On Friday, December 9, 2016 at the funeral parlor there will be a private viewing for immediately Family only at 12:30 PM with a public viewing from 1 to 6 PM.
