The Life of Mr. Gary Porter, 68
Gary Cyrus Porter, son of the late William James Porter and Ruth Cadwallader Kenyon, was born May 22, 1943 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Peacefully, on Monday, September 19, 2011, Gary harkened the Lord's call from mortal life to eternal glory at the home.
Gary graduated from Cinnecticut Public School System, and later received an Associate
degree in Criminal Justice. He served four years in the United States Navy, where he received a National Defense, A Vietnam Service and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. Gary was later honorably discharged from duty.
He relocated later in life and moved to Henrico, NC where he met and married his love, Queen Elizabeth Fields, on February 11, 2003.
Gary joined The Heaavenly Train Station, where he remained a faithful member until his health made him unable to go out as much.
Mr. Porter, has now joined his daughter: Melissa, his mom-Ruth, his dad-William; two brothers: Kenneth and Richard and one sister-Jean, other family members that precaeded him in death...may you all rest in peace and have a blessed reunion!
The treasures of his life are left with his wife: Queen Elizabeth Porter: four step-sons:
Dan Windley and wife Danieo of Maryland, Don Windley of Henrico, NC, Raymond Demers and Michael Demers both of Connecticut; One step-daughter: Kimberly Plude of Connecticut; one sister: Ruth Ann of Connecticut; six grandchildren, three Sisters -in law; Nancy Lindsay, Alice Fields and Lillie Turner all of Henrico, NC; five Brothers-in-Law: Thomas Fields and wife Patricia and Raymond Johnson both of Gaston, NC, Tilman Fields and wife Willie of Washington, DC, Jimmy Fields of Richmond, Va and Joesph Fields and wife Vicky of Henrico, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangments for Gary Cyrus Porter, 68, of 386 Jasper Jones Rd., Gaston, NC-who died Monday, September 19, 2011 in his residence- will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Coleman Funeral Home-Chapel.
Minister Queen Fields-Porter, Pastor of Heavenly Train Station Holiness Church, Warner Bridge Rd., Gaston, NC will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavely Train Station Holiness Church Cemetery.
A private family viewing will began at 12:30 pm on Friday, September 23, 2011 with a public viewing at the funeral home on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 1 to 7 pm.
