The Life of Evelyn "Niecy" Denise Jones, 47
Evelyn "Niecy" Denise Jones was born June 8, 1967 to the late Dolphus Ervin & Evelyn Lucille Mills-Jones in Roanoke rapids N.C. She was raised in the famous community named Dowtin Town by her beloved grandmother Elsie Jones. She departed this earthly life on Friday, October 3, 2014 at her home.
She attended Halifax County Schools and graduated with the class of 1985 from Northwest Halifax High School. She received her certification in cosmetology from Wilford Academy in Brownsville, NY in 1987. She found her true calling following her mother's path as a Nurse's Aide. She fulfilled her life's purpose in serving God by helping others.
She also aided her daughter in taking great care of her only grandson. At an earlier age Nicey got baptized in Jesus Name. Through out her years she remained a servant of God in various churches. She recently join the House of Mandate Church under the leadership of Pastor Orin Perry. Her spirit was infectious, her joy gave healing and her life was a light of wisdom for all hearts she touched.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Elsie and Dophus Jones.
Those left to forever cherish the precious memories of her life are her daughter: Nekia Scott Jones and husband Anthony of the home, the love of her life her angelic grandson: Sebastian "Jack" Jones also of the home, Nine Aunts: Louise Ward husband Robert, Cindy Jones, Cynthia Mitchell husband Tyrone, Judy Jones, Samantha Jones, Cezette Jones, Dorothy Fleming, Eula Prescott and Shirley King and husband Kenny; Nine Uncles: Bernard and wife Beverly, Keith and wife Tammy, Edward, Allen, Joel, Ronnie, Arrington and wife Marie, Edward Mill and wife Joyce, John Mills and wife Sandra, Earnest Lee and wife Robin, several great Aunts and Uncles, a host of cousins, other relatives, church friends, a special and caring Aunt Diane Rosser and many many other friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, 2:00 In The Afternoon at Shearin Chapel Missionary Baptist, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Prophet Robert Ward will deliver the Eulogy where Rev. Maxine Bradley is Pastor.
There will be an immediate family viewing Friday, October 10th at 12:30 In The Afternoon at the funeral parlor, followed by a public viewing from 1 to 6 PM.
Niecy presently lies in the comfort of Coleman Funeral Home & Staff...Because We...Care...
