The Life of ESTHER MAE MASON, 81

The Lord saw that it was time for Esther Mae Mason, 81 of Halifax/Northampton Counties to come and receive her just reward on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Our Community Hospital, Scotland Neck, NC.

Esther Mae, daughter of the late Frankie Lewis Reid was born May 5, 1935 in Northampton County, North Carolina.

She received her formal education through the Northampton County Public Schools.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized and joined Boone's Chapel Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev., Dr. R. H. Kidd.

During her leisure time, Esther enjoyed fishing. Raising flowers on the inside and outside, and it was the joy of her life. Interior decorating was one of her many gifts.

On August 24, 1952, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Paul Edison. Later, she met and married Matthew "Bro" Mason who also preceded her in death.

Esther was preceded in death by her brothe: Joseph Lewis and sister: Alice Powell.

Treasured memories will remain with her devoted Children: Cora Banks and husband Linwood of Garysburg NC, Paul Edison and wife Margaret of Fayetteville, NC and Eugene Edison of Pine Hill, NJ, memories will also remain with Seven Grandchildren, Nineteen Great-Grandchilren, Two Great-Great-Grandchildren, Sisters-In-Law, Brother-In-Law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

There will be a private viewing for immediate family only on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 12:30 PM, followed by a public viewing from 1 to 6 PM at the funeral parlor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 O'Clock In The Afternoon, Boone's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Barrow Mill Road, Jackson, NC, Rev. Robert Britton will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Floral Attendants will be nieces and friends. Pall Bearers will be cousins.
