The Life of Mr. Ernest Junior Simmons, 78
Mr. Ernest Simmons the son of the late Boston Ransom and Mattie B. Bell began his journey with life on November 29, 1937 in Northampton county, NC. In addition to his parents, Ernest is preceded in death by two sons: Larry Lee Simmons and Thomas Ray Simmons, Two Brothers: Dossie Leee Ransom and Boston Ransom, Jr.
Ernest Joined Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.
He was United In Holy Matrimony to Dosie Mae Owens on December 24, 1955 (59 years and 11 months), nearly 60 years of marriage truly a blessing. God blessed this union with 6-children.
Ernest departed this life on Sunday, November 29 2015 at Lifecare Hospital, Rocky Mount, NC.
He left to cherish his memories, A Devoted Loving Wife: Mrs. Dosie Mae Simmons of the home: His Children: Beatrice Minor, Washington, DC, Ernest Simmons, Jr. and wife Catherine, Rock Island, IL, Samuel Simmons and Janett Simmons both of Washington, DC; 20-Grandchildren; 36-Great Grandchildren; 4-Great-Great Grandchildren; Two special children he loved as his own; Robyn La Shae Simons and Justice Alexandria Simmons; His loving Siblings: Ozie Mae Ruffin and husband Joseph, Weldon, NC, Willie Ransom and wife Betty, Garysburg, NC, Minnie Ransom-Bannister and husband Harry of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Terry Ransom, Suffolk, VA, Barbara Ransom-Taylor and husband Robert, Wallace Ransom and wife Barbara, Larry Ransom and wife Belinda, Betty Ransom-Anderson all of Garysburg, NC; Two Sisters-In-Law: Helen Price and husband Willie and Annie Jones all of Weldon, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 O'Clock In The Afternoon, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at New Jerusalem Holiness Church, Hwy 186, Garysburg, NC. Bishop Curtis Ransom will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson, NC.
There will be a private immediate Family viewing 12:30 In The Afternoon, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the funeral parlor. A public viewing will be from 1 to 6 PM.
