The Summary of Emily Lee "Polly" Tillery, 88


There will be a private viewing for immediate family ONLY, Wednesday, December 27th at 12:30 PM at the funeral parlor, followed by a public viewing Wednesday, December 27th 1 to 6 PM.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 28th, 12:00 O'Clock High Noon, Boone Chapel Baptist Church, Jackson, NC, Rev. Dr. Carroll Dickens eulogist.

Burial: Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC

All family and friends will meet at Coleman Funeral Home  to line-up for the funeral cortege at 11 AM on Thursday.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor
sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

A Time To Be Born

Mrs. Emily Lee 'Polly' Mitchell Tillery was born to the late Wilson Mitchell and Mary
Frances 'Lady' Dickens Mitchell on Tuesday, November 12th 1929 in Northampton
County - Jackson, North Carolina.

A Time to Die

Mrs. Emily Lee 'Polly' Mitchell Tillery at the age of 88 from Jackson, North Carolina,
held tight to the Lord's hand on the mourning of Thursday, December 21 st 2017at
6:55am and peacefully transitioned into her eternal resting place at the Northampton
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located in Jackson, North Carolina. The Lord guided
her to his Heavenly home after her long period of illness.
In addition to her parents, Emily Lee was preceded in death by her husband Taylor "TT"
Tillery and her grandson Rodney Rascoe.

A Time To Plant, Build Up, Laugh, Embrace and Love

Mrs. Tillery was raised in a Christian home and as a youth she was led to Christ, she
was baptized and joined the Boones Chapel Baptist Church in Jackson, North Carolina.
She was an active and dedicated member of Boones Chapel Baptist Church until her
health failed, which kept her from attending the services.
Mrs. Tillery attended the Northampton County Training School in Garysburg, North
Carolina. Early years she was employed with Bell Grocery's in Occoneechee Neck,
Jackson, North Carolina. Then after she became employed with Guardian Care Nursing
Home of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina as a Dietician and retired with 35 years plus
of service.

The hobby she enjoyed the most was 'cooking'! She loved to cook at home for the
family and for the family reunion and lastly, she truly loved her family from the depth of
her heart.

During Mrs. Tillery's failing health, she was cared for by her foster sister Barbara Davis,
who was her Primary Caregiver. She made sure she had her affairs in order legally and
spiritually.

A Time To Weep and Mourn

Mrs. Emily Lee 'Polly' Mitchell Tillery leaves to cherish her memory and love two sons:
Raymond Rascoe Jr. wife Audrey of Trenton, New Jersey, Joe Rascoe wife Lillian of
Jackson, North Carolina; two foster sisters: Barbara Davis of Jackson, North
Carolina and Melinda Alston of Kelford, North Carolina; Eleven grandchildren,
Fourteen great-grandchildren and Ten great great-grandchildren. She also leaves to
mourn respectfully, a host of cousins and many friends.

To all the wonderful families whom we have served  this past year and past years, HAVE a very happy New Year.
