The Life of Edward Glenn Miller, Sr., 66
Edward Glenn Miller, Sr., was the first born child of the late Jerlen Martha Ingram Miller and the late Houston Miller. He came into this world as a big bundle of joy and a bright shining star on December 10, 1946 in Halifax County, NC and then taken to the hospital in Raleigh, NC. He gracefully departed this life on September 1, 2013 in Anne Arundel County, Glen Burnie, MD.
Edward (known as Glenn) was born and raised in NC throughout his life, but at an early age his family moved to Philadelphia, PA, where he went and finished elementary grade school. He then continued his education in New York City when the family moved to Harlem, NY. Once he graduated high school, he was drafted by the United States Army and Honorably served his country during The War in Republic of Vietnam. Glenn was a meritorious & distinguished proud War Veteran & served his country as an Army Airplane Parachute Ranger. Glenn's strength and endurance made it easy for him to bravely fight on the enemy lines for his fellow American Citizens while enlisted in the United States Army. He could spend many hours telling anyone who would listen, with his deep radio jock voice his experiences during his military life, life lessons and the history of our wonderful country. Glenn was a proud United States Army Vietnam War Veteran.
Glenn's first and foremost rewarding role was that of being a Father. From his first union he endured the joys of becoming a Father for the first time to his daughter Christina, which she was the Apple of his eyes. After moving back to NYC, he married Dawnette in Brooklyn, NY. Shortly after, Glenn became a Father for the second time to his first born son Edward II, known as Prince in which he surely turned out to be a Prince in training. Two years later, he had the pleasure of welcoming his second son & third child Damian-Antonio, which turned out to be a big bundle of joy and his little twin. For the past 25-years his two sons has been the pride and joys of his life.
Glenn received a college degree in Physiology & Criminal Justice. He was employed as Commerical Teamsters Truck Driver (CDL) for Bay Ridge Lumber, Inc. for many years & then retired from Ace Hardware Company. He was a strong dominant individual and a gourmet cook of Around-the World Food dishes. He enjoyed driving, fixing cars, repairing appliances, watching old movies and the History channel. He will surely be greatly missed.
Edward Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: his three children: Christina Miller of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Edward G.R. Miller, II of Glen Burnie, MD, and Damian-Antonio A. Miller of Pharr, Texas; one Daugher-In-Law: Laukau M. and one Daugher-In-Law to be: Jessica S., a Precious Grand-Daughter: Corrine A. Miller; his former spouse and special relationship : Dawnette & Raymond Taylor; a sister: Shelia Miller; two brothers: Earl and Michael; a god-son and special father-son bond and connection: Bethuel B. Jones Feliope & Tyronnissia JOnes; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and countless caring friends.
Preceding Glenn in death was his youngest brother: Ray and two sisters: Juanita & Hernandez Miller. Special family member Mrs. Constance Ingram Jones Felipe. May you all rest in peace.
Pall Bearers will be: Edward G. Miller, II, Raymond Taylor, Damian A. Miller and Bethuel B. Jones.
Funeral Services for Mr. Edward Glenn Miller, 66 an Army Veteran of 6638 Whitmore Ct., Glen Burnie, MD will be Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 12:00 O'Clock High Noon at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Alvin Campbell (Highway Restoration Church, Roanoke Rapids, NC) will deliver the Eulogy.
Burial will follow in the Ingram Family Cemetery, Ingram Rd., Garysburg,NC.
There will be a private immediate family viewing Monday, September 16th at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral parlor and a public viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m.
