The Life of Mr. Eddie Lee Avent, 67

Mr. Eddie Lee Avent, 57 of 1200 College Ave., Apt 5-F, Bronx, NY but formerly of Hwy 46, Gaston, NC, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Bronx, NY.

Eddie was born August 5, 1945 in Northampton County, NC to the late Ernest and Geneva Davis Avent.

At an early age he joined Gaston Baptist Church and remained a member and later in life he adventured north to find employment.

After graduating from St. Augustine College, Raleigh, NC, he moved to Connecticut and became an Elementary School Teacher for several years. He later moved to Brooklyn, NY and joined the Metropolitan Transit Authority where he worked for 32-years as a Transit Investigator.

After suffering for eight months from a stroke, Eddie passed away in Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY.

He is survived by one Sister: Addie Yvonne Squire, Bronx, NY; two Brothers: James Avent and Cardell Avent both of Lawrenceville, VA; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Sisters-In-Law; Brothers-In-Law, many cousins, co-workers and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Gaston Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy 46, Gaston, NC. The Pastor Rev. Tony Flood will deliver the Eulogy and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be a private immedately family viewing Friday, November 23rd at 12:30 pm. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 -7:00 pm in the chapel.
