The Life of Mrs. Della L. Powell Clayton, 83
Mrs. Della L.Powell Clayton, 83 of Philadelphia, PA, expired Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Della is a life long native of Henrico, NC. Mrs. Della was the daughter of the late Ernest & Lucy Belfield Powell was born on November 27, 1931 in Northampton County, NC.
She received her formal education through the public school of Northampton County, NC and was baptized at an early age at Gaston Baptist Church where she was a devoted member until her health began to decline.
Della was a devoted house wife and mother until May of 2013, when she moved to Philadelphia, PA with her family.
She was married to the late Robert Clayton who preceded her in death.
Her memories lives today and forever in the lives of: Her Children: John Carr and wife Betty of Phila., PA, Irene Ward and husband James of Phila., PA, Magnolia Vincent and husband Jerry of Gaston, NC, Renee Carr of Phila., PA, Arleen Carr of Washington, DC, Betty Dunn and husband Nick of Phila., PA, Norman Carr of Orlando, Fl and James Clayton of Henrico, NC; 25 Grandchildren; 32 Great-Grandchildren; One Sister: Elnora Powell of Henrico, NC; Two Sisters-In-Law: Earline Nicholson of Littleton, NC and Minnie Pearl of Baltimore, MD; Brothers-In-Law: Paul Clayton and wife Retha and Frank Clayton all of Henrico, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many, many friends.
In addition to her parents Della is now rejoined with; Her Husband: Robert Clayton, Her Son: James Lee Carr, A Daughter-In-Law: Shelia Carr, Two Sisters: Sally Mae and Ellie Mae Powell, Four Grandchildren: James Ward, Jerry Vincent, Lashaun and Teeshawne Clayton...May you all rest in peace and have a blessed Reunion.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 O'Clock In The Morning, Gaston Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy 46, Gaston, NC. Rev. Tony Flood will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Her remains will repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
There will be a private immediate family viewing Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 12:30 In The Afternoon at the funeral parlor. A public viewing will follow from 1 to 6 PM.
Floral Attendants will be nieces and cousins.
Pall Bearers will be Nephews and cousins.
