Miss Cynthia Elaine Futrell, daughter of the late Joseph Del and Annie L. Futrell, was born on February 17, 1955 in Newark, NJ and departed this life on December 22, 2018 at Williamsburg Sentara Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA.
Cynthia graduated from Nort hampton County High School East in 1975. Elaine or "Big E"as she was affectionately called studied nursing at Roanoke Chowan Community College in Ahoskie, NC and worked at Roanoke Chowan Hospital and Mylcraft in Rich Square, NC, where she was a supervisor. She also worked at Walter's Grill and Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC.
Elaine was a very strong, devoted and affectionate mother, grandmother and sister. Her hobbies were cooking, eating and socializing with friends. Her passion was feeding everyone and taking care of her grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her mother and father: One Daughter: Shavonna Futrell and and One Son: Jobrian Futrell.
Elaine is survived by: Two Daughters: Alethia F. Carter and husband Jay of Bronx, NY and Cleveka Person and fiance' JoJo of Newport News, VA.; Eight Grandchildren: Eric Bush, Erica Bush, Kenneth Stephenson, Kentrae Stephenson and Shaquanna Futrell of Bronx, NY; Tiquanna Williams and Ramel Dailey of Newport News, VA and Devon Futrell of Murfreesboro, NC; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Survivors also include: One Sister: Bernadine Jordan and husband Tyrone of Conway, NC ; One Step-Brother: Maravin Overby of the home, Two Nephews: Jacques Joyner, Sr. and fiance' Sonya and Jacques Joyner, Jr of Conway and a host of other relatives and friends.
