A private viewing will be held for immediate family ONLY on Friday, June 3, 2022, 2:30 PM, followed by a public viewing for 3 to 6 PM at the funeral parlor.
Curtis will lie in state for viewing at Evangelistic Church of Deliverance-Santuary, Weldon, NC at 10:00 AM til time of the funeral, which will be at 11:00 AM. Minister Charlie Clark will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Cedarwood Cemetery, Weldon, NC.
Curtis Randolph Goodwyn was born November 22, 1964 to the late Elrich Goodwyn, Jr and Rosa Mae Smith Goodwyn in Halifax County, NC. He departed his life on Saturday,May 28, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
At an early age, he was baptised and joined Tillery Chapel Baptist Church, Tillery, NC. Later, he moved his membership to Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Weldon, NC, under the leadership of Pastor William H. and Mother Lucille P. Cheek. He received his education through Halifax County Public School System. Curtis was a hard worker who enjoyed working at various jobs until his health started to decline. He was a good friend to many who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Curtis was preceded in death by his oldest brother Earnest Lee Goodwyn. He leaves to cherish his memories: His Son:
Demontie Ahkeem Goodwyn of Enfield NC, His Daughters: Joydan Kaylee Goodwyn and Shafia Lee both of Roanoke Rapids,
NC. Two grandchildren: Dewayn Deloatch,Jr and Nevaeh Lee both of Roanoke Rapids, NC. His mother: Rosa Mae Carelock of Garysburg, NC; His sisters: Rose Christine Goodwyn of Battleboro, NC and Linda Clay and husband Ricky of Jackson, NC; Two brothers: Lynburg Goodwyn of Garysburg, NC and Willie Goodwyn, Sr and wife Patricia of Halifax, NC; a Sister-In-Law: Eliza Goodwyn of Milledgeville, Ga; Four Aunts, three Uncles, and many nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, and a good friend Deacon Robert Bolling.
