The Life of Clara Powell,79

There will be a private viewing for the Son and Grandchildren, Saturday, June 26, 2021, 2:30 In the Afternoon at the funeral parlor. A public will be for 3 to 6 PM.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, June 27, 2021, 12:00 O'Clock High Noon, Coleman-McGee Funeral Home Front Lawn. Rev. Richard Webb will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the McNair Memorial Cemetery, Gaston, NC.

A facial covering or mask will be required for the viewing and funeral services, due to COVID-19.

CLARA MAE MCNAIR POWELL , daughter of the late John and Bernice Banks McNair was born March 18 th , 1942 in Northampton County, Gaston, North Carolina.

She received her formal education through the public schools of Northampton County.

Clara Mae, was united in Holy Matrimony to Williard Powell on November 12 th , 1946 for 26 years.

She was employed at JP Stevens in Roanoke Rapids, NC, for several years. After leaving JP Stevens she held several jobs in the local community until she was no longer able to work. Though she worked for many years her greatest passion was cooking and having family and friends over for dinner.

On June 14 th , 2021 she passed away peacefully at Signature Health Care in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Her memory will forever live in the hearts of Her only Son: Chester McNair Sr, Gaston, NC; Granddaughter: Shannon McNair, Grandson: Chester McNair Jr. and wife Melanie; five Great Grandsons: ShaHeem Tucker, Omarion Alston, Santana McNair, Tobias McNair and Uriah Cooper; three Great Granddaughters: ShaMya Hamlin, Jadaiyah McNair and Colena Burrell; Great Great Grandsons: Ca'Mari Pittman and Cashmere Bradley and one Great Great Granddaughter: Ca'Nyla Whitaker; Her Sister: Louvenia Lashley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by Her Son Lester: McNair, Husband: Willard Powell, Sisters: Bessie Sykes, Margaret Squire and Mable Clayton as well as Her Daughter-In-Law: Nancy McNair.
