A private viewing will be held for immediate family only will be on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00 In The Morning at the funeral parlor, followed by a public viewing from 3 to 6 PM
Funeral Services will be Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 3:00 In The Afternoon, Coleman-McGee Funeral Home Front Lawn. Rev. Calvon Jones will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Rawls Memorial Gardens, 1130 Burgwyn Road, Jackson, NC.
Facial covering will be enforced at the funeral parlor and the burial. Only 4-people will be allowed to enter the funeral parlor at a time.
Carrie Marie Rawls-Johnson, daughter of the late Clarence & Lucille Rascoe Rawls was born October 1, 1960 in Jackson, NC. She departed from her earthly temple on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
She was the fifthteenth of sixteen children. Larry, Clara, Coley, Randolph, John, Ella, Shirley, Clarence Jr., Robert and Brenda all preceded her in death.
Carrie received her education from Northampton County Public School System. She received her long term care certification through Ho-Ho-Kus School of Science in Paramus, NJ. She was employed by Barnert Hospital in Paterson, NJ for many years.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church, Jackson, NC, and later became a member of Greater Bethel Church in Paterson, NJ and remained a member until demise. On August 20, 1998 she was United In Holy Matrimony to Gregory Johnson.
Those left to cherish Her memories are: Her Husband: Gregory Johnson of the home; Four Children: Torian Rawls of Jackson, NC, Monique Broadnax and husband Tyrone of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Gregory Johnson, Jr. of Paterson, NJ and Markarita Johnson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Eight Grand Children: Tyronica, Destiny, Re'shan,, I'Yonnah, Savannah, Marie, Lillian and Naomi; Four Sisters: Katie Hendricks of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Mae B. Jones and husband Calvin of Garysburg, NC, Anna Rawls and Linda Tyler both of Jackson, NC; A Brother: Alonzo Rawls and wife Patricia of Wilson, NC; A special friend since childhood: Gail Shearin; many, many nieces, nephews, In-Laws, relatives and friends.
