The Life of Bishop Charlie Thomas Parker, 87


Bishop Parker, 87 of 109 Howell Mobile Home Park, Scotland Neck, NC expired Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in his surounded by family.  He was born August 16, 1926 in Northampton County, NC to the late Paul E. and Sarah Allen Parker.

He received his education from Northampton County Public Schools.  At an early age he worked at Garysburg Elementary School as a Janitor for the Northampton County Board of Education, Jackson, NC.  His main trade was Carpentry, of which he mastered.  Him along with his sons, they builted their own brick home in Garysburg, NC.  He was United in Holy Matrimony to the late Jessie Mae Taylor.

In the year of 1949 he joined New Jerusalem Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Mother Lillie Williams and he dedicated his services to God and her.  He became a Deacon and later Mother Williams sent him to Hobgood and Oak City to start his own Ministry, of which he did.

His survivors includes:  his Sons:  Mark Parker of Greenville, NC, Titus Lee Parker of Stone Mountain, GA, David Earl Parker and wife of the home, Joel Parker of the home and Carlie Julius Parker of Tampa, FL; Stepson:  Lorenzo Gorham, Staten Island, NY; Two Stepdaughters:  Linda Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Cynthia Gorham of Staten Island, NY; 25-Grandchildren; 27-Great Grandchildren; 2-Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins, church clergy, church members, saints and friends

Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM, General Assembly of the Apostolic Faith Churches of Giving Grace, Hwy 301 S., Garysburg, NC; Bishop Geanie Perry, General Overseer with Elder Clyde Parker, Pastor of Holy Temple, 1st Street, Weldon, NC delivering the Eulogy.

Burial will follow in the Allen's Family Cemetery, Conway, NC.

There will be a private viewing for the immediate family only at 12:30 PM. A public viewing will follow from 1:00 to 6:00 PM.

Bishop Charlie Parker's remains rest with Coleman Funeral Home and Staff, Garysburg, NC.....Because We Care....
