Forever In Our Hearts: The Life of  BETTIE MASON, 61

A private viewing for Ralph and her children (ONLY) (No one else is come at this time) will be help Friday, February 23, 2024, 1:30 PM at the funeral parlor. Public viewing will be from 2 to5 PM.

Bettie will lie in state in the auditorium of Northampton County High School from 11 to 12 on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, 12:00 O' Clock High Noon, Northampton County High School-West, Gaston, NC, Rev. Cornelius Avent will be the eulogist.

Bettie Mason, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 12, 2024 in her residence with loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born on October 24, 1962, in Emporia, Virginia.

Throughout her life, Bettie was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted companion to Ralph Scott and a pillar of strength for her loved ones. Bettie attended Brunswick Senior High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories.

In her professional life, Bettie dedicated herself to service, working as a custodian at KIPP in Gaston, NC, and later retiring from Northampton Schools as a cafeteria worker. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family.

Bettie leaves behind a loving family, including Her children: Wyetta  Mason, Wyatt Mason III,  and Angela  Avent  all of Garysburg, NC, Sheila Hart, Poconos, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Scott, Emporia, Va  and Roderick Scott, of Fayetteville, NC. She was a proud grandmother to: Diamond Scott, Shamion Nelson, Janae Mason, Jaliyah Sledge, Zanaya Sledge, Shamaya Sledge, Jemerah Mason, Latavious Mason, Terrance Avent,  Albert Mason Jr., Dexter Avent,  Alyshia Williams, Malacious Drumgoole, Siquan  Avent,  A'Yonta Scott, Jaliyah Scott, and Jeffrey Scott Jr. She also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt Mason Jr., her son Levitus  Mason, her mother, Francis Roberts,  her sister, Brenda Avent, and is survived by her brothers, Robert  Avent, Randy Scott and Veron Scott, her sisters Linda H. Avent and Norma Green and husband  Donald and her uncles, David  Avent  and wife Joan and Clyde Avent.

Bettie's home was always filled with the aroma of delicious meals, as she loved to cook and entertain her loved ones. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

Bettie Mason's presence will be deeply missed, but her love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
