The Life of Mother Bessie Lillie Vinson, 87

Sweet Home, Sweet Home, Sweet Home is a beautiful Home for Mother Bessie Lillie Claiboine Vinson, 87 of Garysburg, NC, who expired in her home on Sunday, February, 12, 2017. She slipped away surrounded by loved ones.

Mother Vinson, the daughter of the late Edward Sr. & Ellen Bynum Claiboine, began her journey with life on January 6, 1930 in Northampton County, North Carolina. She was the second eldest of her siblings.

Her education was obtained through the public schools of Northampton County, North Carolina. She enjoyed working in the food industry and home health care.

It was in the Spring of 1970, in the original store front church that Bessie Vinson joined Evangelistic Church of Deliverance under the leadership of then, Elder William H. Cheek, Sr. Mother Vinson was one of four, of the last original saints from the store front church to pass. Besides the generation from the store front church, the only three elder saints left are: Bishop & Mother Cheek and Deacon Roger Whitaker.

Mother Vinson was a Trustee, Senior Choir-President, Missionary and Mother of the church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter: Joyce E. Davis; Her Siblings: Alice Phillips, Walter Claiboine, Alexander Claiboine, Page Robinson and Paul Allison.

THose left to cherish her wonderful memories are: Two Sons: William "Earl" Massenburg and wife Georgia, Hampton, VA and Darrell Massenburg of the home; Nine Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; A Son-In-Law: Edward Davis, Sr., Garysburg, NC; Two Sisters: Maxine Claiboine of Garysburg, NC and Maude Rascoe of Rochester, NY; Two Brothers: James Claiboine and wife Shirley of Rochester, NY and Eddie Claiboine and wife Pauline of Rochester, NY; many, many nieces, nephews, church family, cousins and friends.

There will be a private viewing for immediate family only at the funeral parlor Friday, February 17, 2017 at 12:30 PM with a public viewing from 1 to 5 PM. The family will gather with church family and friends for an hour of remarks and tributes in the chapel from 5 to 6 PM on Friday.

Funeral Services: Saturday, February 18, 2017, 12:00 O'Clock High Noon, Evangelistic Church of Deliverance-Santuary, 195 Sycamore Street, Weldon, NC, Bishop William H. Cheek, Sr., and Elder Clarence Harris will be doing mini sermonettes.

Floral Attendants will be Junior Mothers of ECOD and Pall Bearers will be Deacons of ECOD.
