The Life of Bernard Jones,Jr.

Bernard Jones, Jr. 42, son of Bernard and Hannah Ghee Jones, Sr. was born on August 22, 1967 in Northampton County, Garysburg, NC. On Thursday, August 5, 2010, Bernard Jr closed his eyes to rest in peace at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, Nc.

At an early age Bernard, Jr. joined Chapel Grove Baptist Church and attended Northampton County Schools. After graduating from high school, he attended Elizabeth City State University. The thing he loved most as a hobby throughout his school and college years was basketball. He challenged himself to many basketball conferences at Wake forest University and in High Point, NC. Twenty-five years ago -1984-The Walter Ashe Post 407 in Weldon, NC sponsored two bi-county students to attend the boy's state conference. Selected were Northampton County High School-West student Bernard Jones, Jr. and Weldon High School student Elie Bracy III. He loved washing cars and worked as a forklift driver at Mellco.

Bernard Jr. was alloving and kind hearted person who would give his last to help anyone. In the most recent years, he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and attended Miracle Tabernacle Church of Deliverance with his mother. He loved his family and friends and will be truly missed.

Bernard Jones, Jr. was admired and loved my many who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter: Tyrisha Manley (mother-Nella Manley); a grandson: Ezyiah Manley and a grand-daughter: Sencere Manley all of Lancaster, SC; his son: Terrence Boone (mother-Belinda Boone-Gray) of Gaston, NC; his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Bernard & Hannah Ghee-Jones, Sr. of the home; Three sisters: Robin Roberts and husband Sherman, Gaston, NC, Maria Washington and husband Gregory, Raleigh, NC and Jennifer Conyers and husband Larry, Rocky Mount, NC; three nephews: Shermaine Roberts of Gaston, NC, Darnell Washington and Brandon Jones, both of Releigh, NC; one niece: Bettina Roberts of Gaston, NC; a Paternal Grandmother: Mrs. Mary Lizzie Jones, Garysburg, NC; aunts: Minister Alice Jones Brown and husband Walter of Staten Island, NY, Minister Joyce Sessoms and husband Ronald, Garysburg, NC, Delores Newsome, Fairfax, VA, Darris Bynum and husband James, Warrenton, NC and Emma Wood, Reidsville, NC; uncles: Leroy Ghee and wife Peggy, Garysburg, NC, coley Ghee, Brooklyn, NY, Bishop Paul C. Jones and wife Bettie, Augusta, GA, Horace Jones and wife Yolanda, Staten Island, NY, William Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC,James Lee Jones, Calvin Jones and wife May Bell and Morris Jones all of Garyburg, NC and a host of cousins and many wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wedneday, August 11, 2010 at 1 pm. at Miracle Tabernacle of Deliverance Church, Weldon, NC with Apostle E. L. Ricks Pastor-Officiating.

Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Halifax, NC
