The Life and Legacy of Ms. Annie Wallace Allen, 100

Mrs. Annie Wallace Allen, 100, of Halifax, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Scotland Manor Health Care Center in Scotland Neck, NC.

Annie, the daughter of the late Arthur and Maggie Hawkins Wallace, was born on December 1, 1916 in Halifax, NC. She was a baptized, dedicated and devoted Jehovah's Witness.

Annie, a lifelong resident of Halifax, NC, was married to the late Linwood Allen for 65 years. Eleven children were born during their union. Annie was preceded in death by her husband: Linwood; two daughters: Rosa Moody and Edith Hart, and one son: Floyd Allen.

Treasuring her memory are six daughters: Dorothy Finklea of Brooklyn, NY, Naomi Edwards of Charlotte, NC, Thomasina Hardy of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Joyce Brown of Halifax, NC, Claudette Stephens and husband Royce of Danville, NC, and Angela Andrews and husband Ron of Durham, NC; four sons: Arthur Allen and wife Betty of Greenville, NC, Linwood Allen and wife Eleanor of Brooklyn, NY, Tony Allen of Atlanta, GA and Elza Allen of Halifax, NC; one sister; Armentres Holness; one brother-in-law: Willie Allen; over fifty grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Final Rites will be Sunday, September 3, 2017, 3:30 PM, Garysburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, 2766 Cornwallis Road, Garysburg, NC, James Mallory delivering the eulogy.

Ms. Annie will lie in state at the Garysburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, Sunday at 2:30 PM until the funeral.

There will be a private viewing for immediate FAMILY ONLY, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 12:30 PM at the funeral parlor, followed by a public viewing from 1 to 6 PM in the chapel.
