The Life of Alease Kee-Jenkins, 101

Alease Kee-Jenkins, 101, daughter of the late Milliard Winfield & Loretta Buffaloe-Kee was born July 27, 1913 in Gumberry, NC. She expired Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Universal Health, Nashville, NC.

She attended the Northampton County Schools and graduate. She met and married the late Vernon Jenkins and they became farm owners for the next 29-years, raising all of their meats, veggies and fruit, she would say, "the only thing we had to buy for many years were black pepper". Early in life she taught in the high school equivalent program in Hertford County, NC and worked with voters.

In the 1970's she along with her sister Iccie, joined The Whole Truth Church, Wilson, NC under the leadership of the late Bishop S.C. Johnson and remained members.

She was a wonderful cook, loved playing the piano, gardening, sewing and believed in saving everything. She would call everybody "sugar baby". Always wore a smile and loved to ride.

All of her sidlings preceded her in death: Millard "Son" W. Kee, Jr., Bessie Kee-Stith, Naomi Kee-Moody, Iccie Kee-Thomas and Larlie Kee-Boone.

She is survived by: the son she never had, her great-nephew: Ellis C. McGee, Garysburg, NC; two devoted nephews: Lavon Moody and Patterson Moody both of Gumberry, NC, wonderful nieces to her: Miranda Naomi Stith-Jenkins, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Iris Murphy and Quentis Scott-Adams both of MD; her wonderful friends: Gregory Cotton, James and Elrenda Darden; Many, Many, Many special nieces, nephews (great, great-great, great-great-great, great-great-great-great and etc.), lots and lots of cousins, church friends and other friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM In The Morning; Thursday, October 23, 2014, Coleman Funeral Home Chapel, Garysburg, NC. A viewing will held at the funeral parlor one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Roanoke Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Garysburg, NC.
